Additional Information

This design was inspired by the homes natural surroundings of hillsides, water and trees:

The shapely island reflects the wave of the water. Varying counter heights gives the allusion of a hillside and promotes visual interest that breaks up a very large area. Counter surfaces such as glass at the eating bar, is translucent like the rain. Stainless steel is reflective, like the sun hitting the water and the granite looks organic, like wind when it blows the branches of a tree. Mixing all these surfaces creates drama and adds character.

Using different door styles compliment the architectural modern home. A tubular hood and port holes that are drilled into the stainless steel flanking each side of the range remind one of ships passing by. Small glass tiles add texture and bring out warm colors found in the earth’s natural pallet.

Practical planning of the space promotes harmony. All family members can function at once. The main sink is at the pleasurable view of the homes lush grounds and the second sink is positioned in the island to enjoy guests or watch TV. The refrigeration is concealed as to not to compete from the overall look.

The strong use of details and elements, blended with the natural setting of the homes landscape, make it a warm and welcoming Kitchen.
